Good call Rybert, if you go to Coronado's website it shows Kohl's will be opening in Mervyns old location in the Fall of 2010. I hope they make some exterior enhancements to the store front as well. While this is good for Coronado from a leasing perspective, I really did like their original idea of turning the East end into an upscale open air space with restaurants and shops. Unfortunately the city in their infinite wisdon blocked them from doing so.

I know Target currently owns the old Macy's space at Coronado Center, however, I don't know why nothing has occured there since Target bought that anchor space. I don't know if the plans to build a Target store there have been scrapped or put on hold due to the economy.

Isn't the Kohl's going to be on the Southeast end of Coronado?

"Wednesday, February 17, 2010, Kohl’s has signed a long term lease to take the former Mervyn’s space at the Coronado Center and will be open by October, said Randy Sanchez, the center’s senior general manager." No more Mervyn's... what a waste. It's sad what happened to that store. =(

Why would they want to close the Lomas Target? The two locations are far enough apart, and will attract different demographics.

I doubt that they would close the Target on Lomas. I'm just wondering if they would close the Target on Montgomery east of Wyoming though, since it's only 3 miles away from Coronado Mall.
