I really believe that these outrageously expensive bourbons should disappear. Unscrupulous practices being used to inflate profits are terrible. Too many people with too much money to burn

There are lots of excellent low and mid priced bourbons out there.

For full disclosure, I did buy a wonderful Evan Williams 23 year old for $400.00, but that was for a very special occasion (And, it was retail, not after market price)

This kinda gives you an idea as to why prices are on the rise. From nothing to boom in a little more than 10 years

Ain't that the truth! I remember not that long ago (5-6yrs) I could walk in to the local liquor store and get Elijah Craig 18 for ~$36/bottle any day of the week. Now it sells out in a couple of hours and commands $300+ on the secondary market.

Where did I put that time machine......

I found it at ABCs (state owned liquor stores) in VA without issue. My buddy and I split a case...

Got a local Private Barrel 4 roses pick that a few store owners went and purchased early this year from the distillery. Only cost about $10 above a normal bottle too.

OK list but Basil Hayden's is a turd sandwich. An 80 proof bourbon that's supposed to be special?

I do not get the fuss over that one.

Close enough for me to post in this thread. Was lucky enough on two things here. That Costco here made a mistake and was selling this bottle for $37. And 2) that a friend went up and bought some bottles before they sold out. This is a limited run and very limited in the crap selection we get in AZ. $75+ dollar bottle and I paid $40. Was a great day.

Excellent score, Lew!

I haven't had it, so I'd be curious to hear your opinion.
