I rarely drink mixed drinks, mostly I am a wine drinker, but there are a few times I like a martini 1/2 and 1/2 with a dash of olive juice, and 2 jalapeno stuffed olives. If I don't have them, a regular olive will work. I also will drink a vodka tonic in the summer, on weekends. It has to have lime juice, not just a twist. The other drink that I will enjoy when we have a family brunch is a bloody Mary with a good sized dash of hot sause and a little horseradish, plus whatever other stuff gives it a spicey kick.

Seltzer
Splash of Cranberry Juice

Pinnacle Whipped
Seltzer
Splash of OJ

or

Pinnacle Whipped & OJ

Ketel One & Cranberry

But back in the day, it was Long Island Iced Teas or Long Beach Iced Teas for me. I kinda' miss those. I'm just afraid of what they'll do to me these days.

I usually have a campari & tonic on ice, with lime, when I have a bar drink. Just a light apertif. (like others I am more the beer drinker).

Ive had some very impressive bar drinks, though...one guy at a local live music place made this outstanding cocktail out of I think Midori...it was green....dont recall the name but it was good. Green Death? Liquid Marijuana? Something odd like that.

I don't have them often, but when I'm in the mood for one I really enjoy an old school Trader Vic's type Mai Tai.

It's hard to find them any more. When I lived in SoCal there was a local Polynesian restaurant that made them with fresh juice that I really liked. Now the few places that have them tend to use bottled mixes, and the Tiki Revival hasn't hit everywhere.

Still, when I fly into Kona Airport I like to head for the bar at the Kona Inn (talk about old-school!) and order a Mai Tai (with an orchid in it!) for an instant attitude adjustment. Drops the stress of the flight and puts me right into Island Time.

What is a Skinny Jack? Jack and Diet Coke I presume? We like a similar one, Cap'n or Sailor Jerry and Diet Coke.

Frozen daiquiris in the summer and I cheat -- I get the mix or bucket and add fresh fruit. I especially like peach ones.

Bloody Mary -- I do make these from scratch and everyone has always loved them. Smirnoff vodka, Campbell's tomato juice, fresh lime juice, celery seed, worcestershire sauce (Lea and Perrins) and a dash of Tabasco sauce. I serve them in a glass with rimmed with kosher salt and a celery stalk.

Favorite quick drink -- vodka (I especially like the flavored Smirnoff ones) with ginger ale and a lime wedge.
