Love the Blue Moon pumpkin beer! Good idea for a hearty dinner and I can use Tofurkey Beer Brats which are vegetarian!

See! You're being punished for thinking a pumpkin beer is the same as an Oktoberfest beer.

Won't make that mistake again, will you?

Since Pumpkin beer is also being discussed in this thread, I'll mention that I bought some Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale yesterday. It is AWESOME. I think it is as good as the Pumpkin ale from the craft breweries. Sadly, Sam raised his prices too.

Chugged my first Sam Adams Oktoberfest of 2012. Just as good as I remember it last year!

My favorite German Oktoberfest is Spaten. American brewers that I like are Victory's Kaiser Imperial Oktoberfest (10%abv!!) Brooklyn and Bell's Oktoberfest.

The best Pumpkin ales I've have have been by: Dogfish Head, Hoppin Frog, Elysian and Schlafly.

Pumpkin stouts are also tasty.

I was going to get the Sam Adams Oktoberfest, when I came across a case of Wolters Fest Bier. I tried it and for a little over 20 bucks a case, not bad at all. May get another one.

My 2 favorite "local" Oktoberfests are Franconia Brewing's example and Real Ale's. Saint Arnold places high as well. The TX breweries do a good job on the Oktoberfests and I haven't tried very many aside from these. I love the style, though.
