For a good, very inexpensive blended scotch, check out Grant's Family Reserve. It's on the sweeter side (I think all of the single malts in it are from Speyside) with no peatiness at all. I can get a 750 ml bottle at the local liquor store for $15 plus tax. It's cheaper than both Dewar's White Label and Johnnie Walker Red Label and infinitely better.

I haven't drank it in a long time though. My go-to drink right now is Johnnie Walker Black (I get a 750 ml bottle for $25 plus tax). My single malt of choice is Laphroaig 10-year Cask Strength. It's pretty cheap compared to most single malts.

I have been really enjoying Evan Williams Single Barrel and Bulleit bourbon. Bulleit is around $16 or $18/ 750ml. Buffalo Trace is always nice in my opinion. I'm just learning bourbons and other whiskies and hope to try some TX small batch whiskies like Ranger Creek soon.

Have recently been enjoying Dewars 12 year old for about $22 a bottle. A nice little blended scotch. Spicey fruit, ginger and vanilla. A nice step up from the regular Dewars.
