*Just to clarify things off the bat, this thread is not aimed at people who abstain from alcohol in general*

Anyway, maybe this is because I'm a young-ish guy (but yes mods I am old enough to drink legally), it seems like a lot of female acquaintances drink alcohol but don't drink beer. Is this a common thing?

It's not that dumb of a question. A much lower percentage of women drink beer than men. A great many women drink, but do not care for beer, much more so than men, in my personal experience as well.

True.

But I love a good beer, just not so many at one time.

Current fav: Negra Modelo....imported dark beer/Mexico.

When I do drink beer (abstaining from alcohol right now) I like hoegaarden, chimay, duvel, etc.

I don't. Not because I am not a woman, but because I don't like the taste and am sort of gluten intolerant. I drink a lot of wine, which seems to project a "high maintenance" vibe to those who like to stereotype. But its really because it disturbs my stomach to a much lesser degree and I enjoy the taste.

Sure, I drink beer. But not as often as wine. Beer tends to make me feel bloated.

However, when I was in college and my early 20s, I drank more beer, and some of it was pretty cheap and awful.

Of course I drink beer, after all I am from Bavaria and they have one of the best beer out there. When we moved to Canada we noticed how watered down the beer here is.

Yup, drink beer when I'm at a bar. Mainly because in a bottle it can't be watered down.

My first choice is generally Corona, after that is Blue Moon, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat and Brooklyn Pilsner.
