Here is a fun little video about how to properly taste whisky. This wily Scotsman (master blender Richard Patterson) is a real hoot too. It's quality infotainment.

how to drink whiskey like a sir - YouTube

He also has another on drinking blended scotches that is real good too. "If I see you drink it like this, I'll kill you." I wouldn't mind trying that $100,000, 60 year old scotch either.

To me, Jack has a strange flavor that reminds me of mouthwash. I'll stick with Makers Mark.

I guess Miller is making a beer that tastes like bourbon...yummy. At least its good fodder for aspiring comics. I'll start. Maybe next they can make a beer that tastes like beer...boom!

MillerCoors Debuts Miller Fortune - Business Insider

"We asked, 'How would Jack Daniels or Maker’s Mark do a beer and why?'" David Kroll, MillerCoors' head of innovation, told Bloomberg. "We tortured every aspect to say, 'Are we falling back on what beer would do?' Because this brand is intended to play in a spirits occasion."

Miller, I know Jack, Jack was a friend of mine, Miller, you don't know Jack! This skit is obviously a work in progress.

Of course Monty Python has one that once was quite true:

To be fair, some of the best and most coveted beers around are aged in bourbon barrels. The Miller thing sounds disgusting.

No doubt. I love Bourbon County Stout by Goose Island and I'm not even that big on stouts in general. But the Miller thing sounds like a joke. Does it even have real bourbon in it? I know it doesn't have real beer.

Correct. All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it and if it lives up to the hype of this rarity.

IMO, it's wonderful! But very expensive.

I don't like plain whiskey/whisky, I like bourbon; specifically either Maker's (hubby is an ambassador for them), or Woodford. For Scotch, I like Glenlivit 21.

On the Maker's Mark label, it's "whisky".

There is a new bourbon distillery here in Savannah. We just got a bottle of Savannah 88 (88 proof) and its good. Kind of nutty, like Jim Beam, with a honey-ish aftertaste. We will get it for gifts, but we mostly just drink cheap stuff in Manhattans.
