I am not a native of North East PA but since living here for the past three years, I have picked up a thing or two.

Boilo is beverage that is popular around the holiday season and all winter long. Made right, it tastes good. It is also purported to have medicinal properties, particularly for, colds, flu, chest colds and assorted other cold weather related illnesses.

Here is how I make it.

Boil 3 cups Apple cider
3 cups Ginger Ale
3 lemons halved the juice squeezed out and the lemon halves included in the boil
1 cup orange juice
2 oranges halved and juiced. Ass orange halves to mixture
1 pear blended until soft
Spices - cinnamon, nut meg, cloves, cardamon, ginger - grated. to taste
1/2 cup honey or agave

Let mixture boil for at least one hour, stirring frequently. To one shot of your favorite whiskey, add 3/4 cup of the mixture, strained.

Really tasty and the spices and fruits, and high quantity of vitamin C may make you feel better. The shot of whiskey has the properties that it always has.

Honey bourbon works well. So does dark rum! Enjoy!
