I know, but the owners seem to leave these little guys to make their good beer. I did not mention all the great small breweries located in Maine. Some of these are starting to get some distribution. Try Shipyard, Sea Dog, Geary's, Belfast Bay, Bar Harbor, and Gritty McDuff's if you ever find any of them in your area.

Modelo Especial is about the only one I can think of. I like it if I'm going for something light, refreshing, and easy to drink. It's one of the few beers I can stand to drink with food and it's fairly cheap when it goes on sale.

I don't mind Beck's too I guess, it's not too bad.

I don't really drink the "cheap" stuff anymore though. It just tastes too bad, and the "cheap" stuff isn't cheap anymore anyway, so what's the point? If I'm looking to get drunk for cheap I drink wine or whiskey and coke, they are much cheaper and easier.

If I'm wanting to drink beer I would rather spend the money on the good stuff e.g. Three Floyds, Bell's, Founders, Unibrou, Short's, Dieu du Ciel, etc. At the least I'll drink a few whiskey and cokes before switching over to a good beer, that way I don't need to drink 12 of them.

If I must, I can down a Bud Light or Michelob. If the only choice is Miller or Miller Lite, I'll drink water, thankyouverymuch.

Lately, I have Miler High Life in the fridge all the time. I can have about 36 beers in my beer fridge at a time, and I have decided I need at least 6 of either Miller High Life, Coors Light, or Miller Lite (of the 36). The remainder are a mix of large and small "craft" beers, and in "craft" beers I include Blue Moon, Leinenkugels.

Looking at my fridge right now, I have Alpha King and Gumballhead, some Delirium, Blue Moon Rounder, Leinie's Vanilla Porter, a couple Sophia, some Avery Overrated, and a few from Central Waters...and 6 Miller High Life.

Usually Miller or Yuengling. Bud and Coors if they're the only available options. If I have to resort to Natty Boh or something of the like, I can usually tell it's gonna be a bad night ...

For the price of a 12 pack of good beer around here, you can pretty well buy a dirty 30 of the cheap stuff. I enjoy good quality beer just as much as everyone else. I also like to save money when I can, so I keep both on hand. Not to get drunk off, just to have a beer after work or on a Friday night. Not every occasion requires a top dollar beverage.

I could never casually drink a crappy beer, those are exclusively for getting wrecked.

I was thinking more along the lines of Budweiser, Miller, Coors, etc. They're almost $20 for a case here now. I can get a half gallon of Jim Beam for $24 which is about the alcohol equivalent of 42 beers. Or a halfway decent bottle of wine for $4-5. So for me those beers have priced themselves out of the market.

You can get a 30-pack of Hamm's for ~$12. That's a little different story, but it's still not really any cheaper than a whiskey and coke, and I would rather have the whiskey and coke.
