Fancy a pint of the not-so-dark stuff?

Guinness, maker of the famed Irish stout often called "the dark stuff," is rolling out a new lager aimed at American beer drinkers.

Interesting. Not sure how I feel about that or whether I will try it...I'm not a huge fan of lagers.

It's funny cause I'm as American as it gets, but just about the only beers I drink are stouts and porters. I love them. Although Guinness has never been too good for me...I like em, but I prefer the sweeter stouts. They should do an oatmeal stout or cream stout rather than a generic lager.

Guinness already brews another lager, Harp.

This is being brewed in Latrobe, PA, the original home of Rolling Rock.

Cheap and tasteless ? Sorry, couldnt resist.

Ill give the Lager a try. I love Harp so I wonder what this will be like. When they say "American Lager" will it be one with flavour or will it be water like the big three styles.

Good luck with that, when the brewers of American adjunct lagers are losing market-share to craft brewers and altering their products accordingly.

American Style Lager

You mean thin, watery, fizzy and yellow? Made mostly of corn and rice syrup?

I'll stick to the dark stuff thanks...
