Yeah, that was the only float I made, didn't like it so didn't try again.
One thing I have on occasion added to beer, depending on the beer and how hot is is outside, is lemonade. Beer, lemonade, and ice is good on a super hot day. I find it works best with lighter lagers (e.g. not bock) and wheat beers.
I can't remember at the moment, but I swear a microbrewery is actually distributing a wheat beer/lemonade cocktail.
While it's certainly easy to find, to me Black Butte is just ok. I certainly wouldn't turn one down, and if places with less selection it might be one of the better options, but I can't get too excited about it.
I agree with the earlier poster that liked the Stone Smoked Porter.
My favorite Porters are more often of the Baltic kind- Black Boss (only seen it available in a "slightly over a pint bottle size as singles) is near the top of my list.
I just picked up a sixer of Leinenkugels snowdrift vanilla porter, I like stouts and porters during this cold weather, The snowdrift vanilla porter was 6.99 for the sixer and a nice smooth, porter, not bitter with hints of vanilla and coconut, excellent beer for the price in my opinion. Any other recommendations for this type of beer.
I saw that at the store and was wondering if it was any good.
Thanks for the review. . I will have to give it a try.
We're spoiled here in the NW-every town has a micro-brewery or two. My favorite is a Knot Tree Porter from McDuffs in Sandpoint, ID. For larger-scale brewing, Black Butte from Deschuttes is also excellent.

In most of the country anymore ever town has a micro brewery...the NW certainly doesn't gave an exclusive on them.any more.

Very true. The top beer states are spread pretty evenly throughout the country.
It seems like every city big or small has multiple breweries. (And most smaller tourist towns too.)
