Happy New Year to one and all!

If you plan to indulge this evening, do you have a tried and true hangover cure?

I am not planning to over indulge but will drink lots of water and toss down a few turmeric capsules for liver detox and inflammation.

Please share your best hangover cures!

Do not over indulge anymore, but when I did, I liked a strawberry Quik, 2 Krispy Kreme glazed donuts and a 20 oz. Mt. Dew. Always did the trick for me.

In my younger nightclubbing days, I would get in at 5 or 6 am, shower, and go to work. I would stop at the breakfast counter down below my office and get a huge glass of tomato juice. It would fix me up enough to get through the day.

If I did that routine today I would be dead.

I have either never had a hangover or have a permanent one, I'm not sure which.

Supposedly eating yeast before you drink helps to metabolize the alcohol. At least that's what Sam Adams founder Jay Koch says.

A very smart person told me that drinking large amounts of water will prevent hangover, since a hangover (according to him) was simply dehydration. I usually drink at least 4 cups water before going to bed if I've had more than a glass of wine... I've never felt hungover if I do this. But then again I've never drunk heavily (to the point of being wasted) in recent memory.

Alternating drinks with water helps prevent the hangover but if you get too drunk to remember to drink water, a big plate of nachos with pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole in the morning works wonders for the hangover. Or a full English breakfast.

I try to alternate drinks and water to avoid a hangover when I'm going to have more than a couple of drinks.

My go to breakfast is a couple of poached eggs, cinnamon toast, and some hot tea. It works for me.

The only hangover cure is water, rest and time. Better yet, don't get so sloppy drunk in the first place.
