The box of Kirkland light beer I just picked up in KC was brewed in Monroe Wisconsin, I know this brewery from my growing up days in Cheese country… Not a bad place. I'm going to give this a try, how bad can it be for 20 bucks?

It's well known that the Kirkland liquor is re-bottled from other major producers. You're likely to enjoy your drink.

Expect to see a lot of Kirkland beer at Burning Man next year.

Which major producers? It didn't taste like Coors Light or Bud Light at all to me.
Had a strange sweet after taste to it.

I have had Kirkland Vodka and that's pretty smooth.

They have good values on their liquor and on their wines too.

I recently bought a 1.75liter bottle of Vodka called Prarie Vodka from Minnesota for like $18. It's an organic vodka.

Looking online it seems to be closer to $30 most places

Prairie Organic Vodka 1.75L - South Lyndale Liquors

Also bought this Wine from France for $6 ..
Looks like other places sell it for $11-22
2012 Lavau Rasteau, Rhone, France: prices

Pretty big price differences.

Costco is one of the largest liquor, beer and wine buyers in the world and they know what they're doing. Their head wine buyer is a well respected authority not only on wine but it's marketing as well. I don't know who's making their beer these days. In the past I found a Kirkland branded Dunkel Weisen, very hard to find, made by Gordon Biersch. The same Dunkel that you could only buy in GB's brew pubs. They didn't bottle it under their own label.
On our last Costco run the wife and I picked up a bottle of their house brand 7 year old Kentucky straight bourbon, and also their aged Tequila. Both interestingly came in full quart bottles, none of this 750ml stuff. Each cost 19.95 and both are stellar buys. The tequila is 100% blue agave and comparable to Sauza Hornitos gold or better. The whiskey is very reminiscent of Dickel recipe number 12.
If I drank lite beer I'd try theirs in a heartbeat.

I just saw Kirkland light beer today, next to the Coors Light I was picking up. We normally drink craft beer at our house but I do keep some Coors around so we have something to drink between growler fills.

I probably would have tried a six pack of the Kirkland beer today if available but a 48 pack carton was too much in case we didn't like it.

Too bad Costco doesn't pass out samples of the beer like they sample everything everything else.

maybe I should as I've been trying to drink lighter beers for my belly issue lol. I like heineken light and a few other euro lagers but bud and the rest here in the states are nasty. Light beer in general I'd rather just not have beer.

Had it, wasn't impressed. For light beer, Miller Light is much better. I don't drink lots of light beer anymore, but when I do I choose like I do all my beers, I go with the ones I like best.

I've gone through two 48-packs now and have decided I am not going to buy any more. It's just not very good and I don't care for the sweet taste.
