During the winter I always drink red wine or martinis, but come summer I switch to white.For me, not being a drinker of whites that much, I am happy with almost any Pinot G or S Blance as long as it isn't sweet.

Search out Txakolina wines from the Basque region of Spain. A terrific producer is Ameztoi, whose whites & roses are widely available. It's a bit fizzy (petillant) so it gives you that freshness on the tongue, like a sparkling drink.

Washington State's Chateau St. Michelle produces a very nice Pinot Gris in my opinion. Lovely stone fruit notes, well rounded.

Ecco Domani or Cavit Pinot Grigio. You can also find Santa Margarita PG sometimes on sale for under $20

I second Barefoot. I also enjoy Astica Sauvignon Blanc. It is under $10 where I live.
