I love them--I always make mine with V8. I love some of the over the top garnishes, too. I even got some of these-- Benny's Bloody Mary Beef Straws - Benny's OMS
Lol! My first reaction is "ew!" but I'm trying to keep an open mind. So, you've tried them and you like them?
I've never had a bloody mary, but they sound super similar to a Mexican michelada because of the ingredients. If they taste close to that then I probably will like it!
I only drink once a year, on my birthday, and it's always a bloody Mary. I never made one myself but I know they contain tomato juice, vodka, and usually have a celery stick. (Since my birthday is in summer, if it's a very HOT day, I may even have two bloody Mary's.
I think what I like about them is that I don't like the taste of liquor but vodka doesn't have much/any? taste. So it just tastes like tomato juice spiced up a bit--and you get tipsy enough that you don't even realize that you're a year older!
If you're buying a mix, Zing Zang is the only way to go. Honestly, I think it is better than most of the "homemade" Bloody Marys I have had. It is fantastic. I won't buy anything else anymore.
they are awesome. and I don't even feel guilty about drinking them because I use low sodium v8 as a mixer at home. and this bar about three blocks from my crib has $3 bloody mary drinks from 2-4pm on weekends.
I like them very spicy and usually with breakfast or brunch.
