Hahn Premuim
Cascade Premium

Dislike:

Emu Export
XXXX (Fourex)
VB (Victoria Bitter)
An Aussie friend told me a joke about Foster's. It's not for the youngsters and I'm not sure if it will work censored.

Foster's is like having sex in a canoe....

****ing close to water!

Lenienkugel, a sunset wheat brewed in Wisconsin is excellent. I generally go for beers that are lagers with a light body, or well-bodied ales: in other words, a happy medium: no bland pales, but no heavy beers like Guiness (blah!). I love Warsteiner out of Germany, when it is home-brewed. The stuff bottled in the US is subpar: many aren't aware many of the same beers on the market in both Canada and the US are brewed differently, and we aren't just talking alcohol content either.
One thing for sure: I would rather not drink at all than sip on some brand name, watered-down junk from Bud, Miller, Coors, and the like. How anyone can drink that junk and say with a straight face that is their favorite beer makes reinforces my belief that too many in this country let advertisers and the mass media dictate what people should like.

For what little beer I buy, a brewery would be out of business if they relied on sales to me. But...

Pabst - For old time's sake in memory of the now gone old men of the family. Room temp please with a small can of V-8 and a dash of salt. A couple hard boiled eggs on the side doesn't hurt either. Best on a hot summer day, outside on the porch please.

Love: anything served cask conditioned (bar a few shockers that are still inexplicably served in the UK - Greene King, Youngs - please stand up).

Hate: the usual Bud etc. plus a good selection of those particular bland crap European beers that are over-hyped in the US - I'm talking Heiniken, Stella, Boddingtons, Chimay, Duval plus a few others. Without a doubt these are among the worst beers from their respective counties of origin (each great Brewing nations) yet get lapped up over here and at premium prices. Also any Sam Adams product - most of their beers have the bare minimum of flavour so a not to offend the palettes of the masses. Anything British served in non-cask format.

Back to loving: almost anything Belgian (esp. dubbels, tripples, lambics), German (esp. black lagers, Koelsh, Altbier, dark wheat beers). Plus (most of) the many, many great and inventive microbrews dreamed up across this wonderful country.

I'm an opinionated **** when it comes to beer!
