Getting Older or Something (top, hangover, brands, bottle)

When I was young, I could drink and not really get a hangover.

Now when I drink, I'm practically out of commission the next day. And I'm not drinking a lot either. Anybody else feel like they had a high tolerance that changed to a lower tolerance? It's almost a feeling so bad that I find myself not wanting to drink period.

Yep. For me, some alcoholic beverages work on me worse now than they did before. I dunno why. I haven't changed my diet or anything. But I'm starting to wonder if it's the brand. More expensive stuff doesn't mess me up as badly as the cheap stuff. I drank some really cheap wine months back and wanted to vomit after just a few glasses. When I get some good brands I can drink 3 liters in a few hours without vomiting.

Man, I hate articles with constant gifs between posts. For some reason they annoy for the lack of professionalism.

It started hitting me hard at 35. Like really hard. After a night of 10-12 beers and multiple shots of Jager, at this point the entire next day is destroyed. And I'm starting to have issues with high triglycerides related to alcohol/sugar. And weekends are rough because I drink until about 4am, get a few hours sleep then jump out of planes totally hungover.


So I'm going to have to stop at some point.

actually the older I get the more wine I can handle, but I am not sure about other booze as I rarely drink anything else. I will, on rare occasions have a bloody Mary or a martini but usually only 1. I will add, if I do have a hangover it is much worse than in years past. Age wise, I am pretty sure I am much older than anyone here, maybe twice as old as some. Now, it is about time to pour a glass of wine.

I noticed a slow increase in hangovers each year, then just recently I started feeling lousy after drinking more than 3 beers in a night. It's crazy, but I typically don't drink more than 3 anymore when I used to easily put away a 6 pack...and way more than that in my 20s.

I have had the same experience. I have pretty much stopped drinking Martinis and Bourbon altogether because they make me loopy but I have noticed that a 750 ml bottle of wine is apparently a 'single serving size' now and does not cause hangover.

For me, it's the ability to wake up in the morning. If I drank the night before, it's a real struggle. I'm like, what on earth is wrong with me!? Then a few moments later, oh yeah, I forgot I drank last night.
