Wondering if you all could suggest a few wines that would be good for entertaining lady friends and other guests.


I'm a non drinker.


Don't want to spend more than $20 for a bottle.


Any suggestions would be fantastic.

If your goal is to entertain sophisticated, intelligent women, here's a good place to start:

Hopefully you cook so you can use the leftovers. Wine won't keep more than a couple days once opened.

I'll have to try that. After drinking only whites for many years, I'm starting to branch out into reds. So far I've found some blends I like, Cupcake Red Velvet, and Apothic Red.

A few suggestions:

Rose from Provence, France

Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand
White Cotes du Rhone, France
Trocken Riesling from Germany
Chardonnay from Carneros, California

Pinot Noir from South Africa & Hawkes Bay, New Zealand
Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile
Malbec and Syrah from Malbec, Argentina
Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley, California

Sparkling wine from places not named Champagne: Loire Valley & Burgundy, France, Cava from Spain, Prosecco from Italy, etc.
