Good question. Much as I love IPAs I probably wouldn't choose one, nor Guiness. Probably something more utilitarian like a slightly hoppy session beer or American Pale Ale like Burning River.

There are many good one's out there (and many I'd love to try if I could get my hands on them), but if I had to pick one and only one, it would be this hands down...........

Stone IPA

IPA (India Pale Ale) - Stone Brewing Co. - Escondido, CA - BeerAdvocate

Stoudt's Fat Dog Imperial Oatmeal Stout

This is one of the best stouts I have ever had. Plus, I love my dark beer.

Uh, I don't think I could really choose. Sometimes your in a mood for a Guinness or something equally heavy, and sometimes you get a snazzy, fancy IPA if you're feeling flamboyant, and sometimes you just need a cheap workhorse beer.

I really can't say.

Tazzled I like dark beer too, I haven't tried that stout, I'll look into it! I'm sure I can find it here in SF, people like their beer here.

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which is the only beer I drink nowadays, with few exceptions.
