I have no idea at all what type of cocktail i should serve guest ON NEW YEARS EVE, I'm great with cooking and baking not with the cocktails. HELP PLEASE.

New Years Eve will be a lot of mini finger foods, chips dips salsa, chicken enchilidas, shrimp enchilida with white sauce, spanish rice, grilled chicken and steak for fajitas, salad, fresh fruit, jello, and cheesecake. Any cocktail go with this menu.

You must have some champagne, and a variety of good beers would go well with it. I agree that margueritas would be great. At places like Walmart, you can get a plastic tub of marguerita mix into which you pour a bottle of tequila and freeze it. At party time you just scoop out the slush and have frozen margueritas.

Have sparkling cider on hand, too, in case some folks are not drinking.

Since your menu is predominately South of the Border foods, I'd go with tequila mixed drinks, Dos Equis and Tecate and Corona beers, and big punchbowl of cold Sangria. If you serve warm Sangria, your guests won't make it to midnight

Some real easy ones...

CHRISTMAS IN A GLASS

4 parts chilled Prosecco, or other fizzy dry white wine
1 part gingerbread-flavoured syrup
1. Pour the Prosecco into wine glasses
2. Top with the scented syrup (1 bottle of Prosecco should give 5 glasses)

POMEGRANATE BELLINI

1 part chilled pomegranate puree or concentrated juice
3-4 parts chilled Prosecco, or other fizzy dry white wine
1. Pour pomegranate puree into a glass
2. Top with the Prosecco (1 x 75cl bottle of Prosecco should yield about 6 Bellinis)

ROUGE LIMONADE

3 parts chilled red wine
1-2 parts chilled lemonade
1. Pour the red wine into a tall glass or tumbler
2. Top with the lemonade according to taste (and quality of wine) much as you would a white wine spritzer (1 x 75cl bottle of red wine should yield 5 or 6 glasses)
