Overseas, I remember some roadwork crews got (paid for) mid-morning and mid-afternoon beer breaks.

Been a long time but my cousin was in the Canadian Navy during Korea and they did get their daily ration of RUM.

In the US, brewery workers were permitted to have a beer or two with lunch. However, with all the liability, no one in their right mind would allow drinking at work anymore.

Only take a few to ruin for all of us but at least a cold beer taste so good after a hard days work!

i remember my father bringing beer to work for lunch--in a factory in NJ. they stopped that in the early 90's if i remember correctly...
