OK after further research, the Blonde Roast has the most caffeine of any roast. The lighter the roast, the more caffeine. So much it is making people literally sick.
So last night I sat down at Starbucks and ordered a small blonde roast, within about 5 minutes my hands and feet started itching so I went home. Within 10 minutes my entire body was red, itching, ears hurt and heart racing. It didn't go away for about 20 min.
Now I've never had an allergy before...ever and I am 41. I've had this coffee before and I drink coffee daily. Questions:
Could this possibly be a one time reaction to mold in the coffee?
Could I have developed an allergy to caffeine? Or a certain type of caffeine?
The other thing is dander in the air was extremely high yesterday in Denver. Could that have done it?
Has anyone ever experienced this before?
Thanks CD-MD!
