Great info!
By the way, I didn't believe the duct tape thang either, but the mole (wart?) was really bothering me. Hated seeing it every time I put on makeup. And I scratched it in the night a coupe times, causing it to bleed. It stuck out, and looked like a little brown armadillo.

I wasn't particularly worried about it: Mother had a similar but far larger, darker mole near her ear. Mine stuck out, rounded, but not nearly like hers. However, I woke one morning about a month ago to it bleeding. I think I scratched at it in the night. Then, I started think more about it, examining it closely. It was scaly, not smooth. When I drew my portrait for my profile picture on CD, I drew it so that the mole was hidden on the side of my face I did not show.
Eventually, I got the "bright" idea to put duct tape on it for 6 days, in the same way that some people treat warts. I covered it with a bandage. When I took them off, it stank! But the mole was nearly gone! It was the same color as my cheek, flat, and barely visible!
I am keeping watch over it and may treat it again, along with another less visible, smaller mole.

I had the same thing. Started in my early 20s, as just a slightly thickened area on my cheek, colorless so I wasn't concerned. It was there for decades then became slightly darker. Two years ago it grew and became very large, raised, and dark. I was planning on going to the dermatologist. In the meantime I was diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic; as my insulin resistance improved, so did the "mole" - one day it just kind of scraped away, and now it is almost flat and very light in color. It is still there but looks MUCH better. I have read that when insulin resistance improves, skin tags, etc. improve also.
