Effective treatment for enlarged prostrate
I know this will make no sense. However, I have recently added a can of beer to my daily diet. To my great surprise, my enlarged prostrate problem has gotten much better. Almost no urgency anymore.

A few years ago, my local doc (GP) assumed, due to my age, that I had an enlarged prostrate due to my nighttime urgency. About the same time I was put on a blood pressure med that has a diuretic in it and that solved my urgency problem. Then late last year I saw a Urologist for an apparent infection and upon exam he asked if I had ever been told I had an enlarged prostate because, he said, I do not. So I'm just curious if an exam determined you had an enlarged prostate? Never heard of the beer thing before. I wonder if it dehydrates you enough so that there is less in your bladder? But then i wouldn't think 1 can of beer would be enough to dehydrate you.

One or two beers a day (and no more!) is great for your heart and blood flow. However, they won't help at all with a prostrate issue.
The best help for all mens reproductive health issues is to take one tablet of "Saw Palmentto" everyday for the rest of their life after 25 yrs of age.
In the U.S.A. Saw Palmentto is a off the shelf supplement but in Europe it is a doctor prescribed medicine it works so well. U.S. Doctors are just now telling patients about this supplement that has no connection to the Big Pharma giants. (I bet Big Pharma just hates that!)
Find the purest quality of Saw Palmentto then stick with it to avoid all sorts of male problems with their Prostrate. BELIEVE IT OR NOT!

It's always great to have the spelling police on board! j/k I didn't even notice the typo.
My dad just had part of his prostate removed. Long story, but I wish he had been given the opportunity to treat it with medication or some other remedy.
Beer may not have been a good option for him though. He had a major drinking problem earlier in his life so I think having a beer may have been equivalent to releasing a beast.

Well I guess if you drink enough beers to help your prostate eventually you'll end up prostrate on the floor.

progesterone cream?
Just peering in here to see if anyone discovered/mentioned the same thing my husband recently did - he uses (my) progesterone cream. I had mentioned to him that I heard Dr John R Lee had recommended it to his male patients and saw significant positive results. And, it works for him.

When I read your post what immediately came to my mind was "SILICA!". Beer happens to have a high content of silica which is recommended for inflammatory conditions such as mild prostate hyperplasia, just do a search about "silica prostate" and you'll see, so to those that think it's bogus... well, perhaps you need to learn a little more about nutrition...

And maybe YOU should learn a little bit more about human physiology before making ridiculous assumptions..
Hyperplasia of the prostate does not equal inflammation....it is an actual increase in the number of cells therefore an anti inflammatory will do NOTHING to reduce the size of the prostate.
Never mind the ridiculous leap that the silicon in beer actually has an anti inflammatory effect.

A "ridiculous" assumption? Not according to this: Hyperplasia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
