In my 60s as well. Just a couple of months ago I had an "event" in which a huge floater suddenly developed in my right eye (shaped like a big lasso in the middle of my field of view) accompanined at the moment by a wave of dizziness.
The ophthamologist confirmed being able to see the separation and said there was nothing that could be done about it. He suggested that the dizziness was a result of the nerves sending the signal of the event to my brain, but my brain having no ready way to interpret it: "What the hell is that? I don't know--I'll call it 'dizzy.'"
Taurine mega dose it. Add some beta alanine too. Those are the two most abundant amino acids in the macula. My floaters have greatly decreased since I started taking these two supplements a year ago. One guy reportedly restored his vision to 20/20 using those along with luetein.
I never knew eye floaters were something to cure, lol, just a part of life. I can't help but be reminded of Peter Griffin. ;-)
