I started with the pine bark Pycnogenol back in 1995 and went from there. On another group, here is an exchange about Pine Bark, heart health, MS and more.

Prevention Prevention Prevention -- I believe in working best with what COULD BE.
Hmmm, I was reading about Pine Bark Extract and thought of you, jaminhealth as my first inquiry, and here you are! OK, I started taking pine bark extract recently, wondering about it. Hope it helps as an anti-inflammatory. THAT along with my pressure meds now, and statin, and so far B supplement. (shrug, not sure of any of this, except I know after my pressure skyrocketed again recently I have to keep taking those darn meds.) Hope you're doing ok.
Hey Cindi, I'm doing ok, thanks. Your BP skyrocketed, Why? Extra Stress. Gotta keep that in check, meditation and even the Tapping I talk about and have posted here. Just for good measure I added 1 tab daily of HeartCare standarized Hawthorne to keep BP in check. I take a couple meds too and have resigned myself to them and they can be saving my heart.
On the Pycnogenol or Grape Seed Ex, I believe just about everyone would benefit over the age of 17 or so, I've believed that for many years. And for best Pyc price I go to Swansons 100mg cap and believe me it's affordable considering the cost of Pyc, and the swansons is a pretty quality product.
I didn't realize you take a statin, and for that matter, you could be experiencing some S/E from that med. I wouldn't touch them, so much talk about them out there.
Now if only this body were NOT so arthritis riddled and messed from surgery, I'd be much more tip top. Feel better. j
Just noticing this thread didn't go too far and when I saw MS I thought of my sister and I attempted to get her on it years ago but she listened to all the MS docs and their drugs and she lost her battle a couple yrs ago...the drugs didn't save her.

Hi, jamin. Sorry about your sister.
Yes, I take a statin. Hawthorne berry is supposed to be good for high blood pressure? They have never figured why my pressure is so high. They discovered nodules on my thyroid, I think I've had them for years but never knew it and now I'm wondering if somehow it's connected with my blood pressure.
Yes, well anyway, so the pine bark extract is good for arthritis and/or inflammation? (I hope so.) Thanks for the conversation. Cindi
Cindi, a friend ended up with nodules and she finally got it that it was probably from all the Tums she sucked and ate. Calcium build up on thyroid, she ended up losing part of her thyroid.
What sold me on pine bark is that we were told MAY prevent cancer(s). That was over 20 yrs ago and I'm doing fine. It also got me off all allergy meds. It may be helping inflammation but I live with damage from surgery and years of OA.
