Please stay away from stores like GNC, the quality of their products are mediocre and more often than not your getting sales pitches from their clerks. If you want to do true body cleansing my advice is to read about it on a web site like cure zone, truly educate yourself about it and by doing that you'll learn the best products for you, and those that will work within your budget. Everybody handles cleansing in different ways, so what might work for the clerk at GNC won't necessarily work for you.

Calcium Bentonite Clay with psyllium husks and ground flax seed. The easy way for a beginner is to find one of them pre-mixed versions and follow directions -- This can cleanse your colon even if you don't completely fast, and you'll want to drink plenty of clean water.

My sister's BF just finished 2 week cleansing using these three:
L-Glutamine, Gandibactin-BR, BioFlora HP by his Dr. recommendation.
He didn't come out from the bathroom for a while, however....
Read on each to see what they do.

Not to be too graphic...but if you take bentonite clay you will be excreting horrible looking gobs of stuff. The "cleansing salesman" will point that out as proof of all the old, rotten stuff that's getting "cleaned off the walls" of your lower unit. You've heard it - "like cleaning out the drainpipes in your house." Uhh, no. You know what a primary function of bentonite is? Mixed with water it swells and seals and is used in drilling mud, clay liner for landfills, ponds, pools, and sewage lagoons. Eat it, it absorbs lots of water, and you crap out the most disgusting looking stuff you ever saw.
Remember the old GIGO rule - garbage in, garbage out.

Welll, now, I should have specified 'pharmaceutical grade' calcium bentonite clay as not all clay is fit for taking internally. What the clay does it DRAW toxins into itself, and pull it out of your system.

Well...having worked in a bentonite pit years ago [college summer job] I don't care what "grade" it is - or what mesh it is either - that stuff just ain't going down my gullet. I can't imagine it does anything other than dehydrate your innards.

These cleansers are snake oil, promises of great benefits with no actual medical studies to back them up.
Eat plenty of fiber to keep your colon clean. Don't eat a lot of processed foods, they just add chemicals to your body. Drink filtered water to keep your body hydrated. That is what the human body uses to cleanse itself. It's been that way for millions of years.

When I first heard of ingesting it internally I laughed out loud. But I listened to stories about how it works and the many health benefits it has, for a long time, and eventually my own (at the time kinda new) health issues made me go ahead and buy some.
Here's one link to learn a little more about it:
http://www.aboutclay.com/clay_uses.htm (broken link)
I don't want to hijack the thread here with the topic of clay but it might be another good thread to start. I have used it first only externally -- it had a dramatic effect on my itching when I suddenly had this really gross excema all over my hands (and that was the beginning of lots of other things and the hand rash is long gone go figure) and when I put it on my skin (as a paste, best mixed the day before so it kinda 'gels up') it IMMEDIATELY stopped the itching. It can have a very drying effect, though, and sometimes I mix it with coconut oil for use on the skin, which is a bit of a hassle and you can buy pre-mixed things with the clay already in them for a non-drying thing to use.
I also sometimes take it internally but am not very consistent with that yet. I always do the psyllium / flax seed mix when I do that, and I also use the pre-mixed clay to mix with the water just because it's better that way. How much you use, how often you use it, how thick you mix it (drink LOTS of extra water!) are all variables depending on the effect you need. I do not want to take it without the balancing effect of the psyllium husks.
It sounds absolutely crazy when you first hear of it, I totally agree.

No offense to anyone here, but the super colon blow system is a scam. As another poster has mentioned, if your diet is properly balanced and a good approximation of the diet your body is designed for, you have no need for a total body cleanse. If you aren't getting enough dietary fiber, you should supplement with a dye and flavor free psyllium husk bulk agent on a daily basis. Apart from that and you are spending money needlessly and putting compounds and chemicals into your body whose effects have not been fully evaluated.

No offense to anyone year, but did you even read my link? I do not know about 'super colon blows' myself, the one I mentioned does not act like an ordinary laxative, no 'blow' effect in my experience.
I just used it again yesterday morning.
I do totally agree with you, though, if you have a properly balanced diet, the colon cleanse should seldom, if ever, be necessary, but I believe the percentage of people TRULY eating that clean is pretty darned small.
