there is no standard response to this question, different people like different things, for some your itinerary would be way too hectic, to others not hectic enough... plan it the way you like it certainly is doable but it's a tight schedule. Myself, I would probably fly open jaw - start with Brazil and a bordering country...probably a road trip from Rio/Sao Paulo/Uruguay and Argentina and then fly back

an open jaw ticket flies into one location and leaves out of another, how you cover the distance between the two destination is up to you - by surface, another flight or cruise etc.
If your purpose is just to get quick impressions of each country...and save for a more intensive visit in the future...than 10 days could work. I do such things all the time.
Depends on your purpose. If you have a long agenda of things to do, it might not work. But if you are like me, just exploring and trying to get a sense of the people and the place, than it would work.
