The problem with any ancestry test in countries like Brazil or the DR is that one doesnt know who the people who were tested. If they only tested in Sao Paulo, or Santiago in the Cibao, then the results will lead to a very diferent conclusion from tests in the Sertao, or Santo Domingo.

To try to find an average Brazilian or Dominican is nonsense, as no such person exists. There are a wide range of combinations, and often these differ based on region.

In any case people are defined by their appearance and by social definitions of race, and the extent to which these impact access to socio economic opprtunity. The specifics of the ancestry will be meaningless becaus etwo people can have exactly the SAME ancestry (because they have the same parents), and yet look vastly different, and will be treated differently as result.

Explain this as autosomnal were devloped precisely because of the gaps of the other two. MtaDNA exposes only the maternal ancestors. The Y DNA only exposes the male ancestors of the father. So what of the male's maternal ancestors?

So even if one uses both to determine ancestry there are gaps. Definitely using MtaDNA will over estimate the Amerindian ancestries as the Europeans mated mainly with the females in the early days.

.

And therefore the contribution of the female ancestors is exaggerated. MtaDNA on its own yields inaccurate results.

And of course in Brazilo where one's appearance (and therefore assumed ancestry) has a strong impact on the socio economic barriers which one might encounter two siblings with the same parents, but with vastly differing appearance will be treated very differently.

Perceptions of race are a SOCIAL construct. Which is why it varies in different societies.

The Latins that think about race are from the USA. Latin folks in their native countries are not concerned with racial issues. In fact, I started a thread to demonstrated how ridiculous the racial views of the USA are.
