I think countries in Central America are very underrated. Costa Rica and Guatemala are breathtaking

False. I live in Brazil and the influence of North America is ridiculous here....More than what i experienced in Guatemala , Costa Rica and Honduras

I'd say way way overrated, even more than Mexico, Panama, Cuba, even Brazil!
I wasn't overly impressed, particularly by the cost of living (and San Josť, what a dump!).
And their "pura vida" motto...what an hypocrisy!
