Brazil, Venezuela and Argentina are the only good Latin American countries, the rest are terrible with high crime and drugs

Brazil is known for its drugs..

Argentina, Chile and Uruguay are the only places I'd consider living in.. no arrogant assumptions here just based on research and a deep interest in the world!

Caracas and Rio are two of the most violent cities in the world. It just shows how knowledgeable you are.

Also, most countries are big. There are regions of Brazil where crime is very high and there are regions where crime is very low.

I agree that Colombia is way better than its reputation.

Rural Brazil is certainly anything but interesting, but then again, I never heard anyone overrating it Except for Rio and SP Brazil is mostly ignored.

Venezuela is horribly underrated, since the US Media and Government have added them to the Axis of Evil list merely because they freely elected a president who chose to market their oil without giving big US corporations a cut, and using the benefits to raise the standards of their own poor instead of rich American shareholders.

Colombia is very underrated. Colombia is by far the most "South American" of all South American countries, rather than trying to copy attributes of other great world powers. Colombia has successfully eliminated drug-gang influence, and is now as safe as any other SA country. Probably more accurate to say the drug gangs have self-destructed, as they are now doing quite rapidly in Mexico as well.

Brazil is overrated. It is a geographically divided country, where the south is nearly first-world, but still with horrible urban problems, and the north is still third world. I fear something terrible is going to happen down there, with deepening class divisions.
