Rio Grande do Sul or Santa Catarina. Look up Jurere Internacional and Florianopolis.

I would recommend Santa Catarina.

Rio Grande do Sul is awesome, but you really need to appreciate the culture and the people. It doesnt have the beaches, and is not typical Brazil. It is very European Brazil and has a strong gaucho culture. It is great, but not the easy laid back beach culture people come to Brazil for.
