Then Rudy is correct that racism was a social construct without any backing.
The British discriminated the Irish in America because they had been discriminating them back in Britain for centuries and even colonized them on their own Irish island.

I also think that the Scottish have gotten somewhat of a different treatment from the English too, but I'm not too sure about this. The last time I went to the airport I became acquainted with a Scottish couple that were on their way to Scotland. The guy was telling me how he preferred to fly to Scotland with a stop in Dublin instead of London. When I asked him what's the problem with London, I thought he was going to mention that the airport is too crowded or inefficient, but his actual answer was 'the English!'

I know Scotland is on the verge of opting for independence, but I don't know if the English mistreated them as the Irish were.

Another group that was heavily discriminated against was the Italians. In some part of the southern U.S. they even lynched a few of them.

At this point, the economy and markets are just too dynamic to really limit people because of race, which is why the system was designed in the first place. When America only had a few industries, this worked, now it really doesn't.
The problem is, color is intrinsically linked to class, more often than not in the U.S.; therefore, (negative or positive) assumptions are drawn solely based on one's shade.

Because whiteness is equated with everything good (i.e. wealth, intelligence, purity, etc).

Depends on the Hispanic and what their race is. There are Hispanics who are mainly of European background. Hispanic looks can vary a lot.

Yeahp...which is why Hispanic is an awful term. Most Mexicans dont even identify themselves as Hispanic, just as Mexican. Also, not all Mexicans are Hispanic as Mexico is.home to a lot of indigenous people who dont even speak Spanish and are much more intuned with their native culture than mainstream mestizo culture.

Personally, when I can I just put 'other', despite the fact that I and my family look very southern European, not indigenous. Nonetheless, I see myself as a mestizo, and unless I take a genealogy test that says otherwise, I will continue assuming I am. Then, even if a test said I had no Native blood, I would still not identify as white. I dont see the point in participating in a social construct that works to includes some and excludes other for priveleges.

Btw, consciously I am a neutral person that thinks logically. Unconsciously though I do have a negative connotation towards 'whiteness', as I remember feeling more than sligthly offended when people have assumed im white, or white friends insist that I must be because I look like their cousin or brother or wtv (which then I insist that their relative must be part Mexican, ha). Eitherway, I know that my reaction - whether unconscious or not- is stupid as I should not.have any negative or positive correlation to any race or ethnicity. Individual character is what matters, and im sure not all.white people are clueless, selfish, greedy, xenophobic folks that insist racism doesnt exist while ignoring systemic and institutionalize forms of it. -_-

I hate when people say " We are all equal now"

Its like saying " Affirmative Action is racism against White people because it favors blacks. We are all equal now. Even though blacks were slaves for hundreds of years and given inferiors services for more than a hundred years after they were free, they should have catched up by now. They are lazy."

Pfft please

For example, Buenos Aires,Argentina, Montevideo, Urugay have many Europeans that immigrated there. Venezuela also has many Europeans (Spaniard, Italian) that immigrated there.

Many Latinos who look white appear in the capital cities. Mexico City (DF) has LOTS of light-skinned, Euro-looking Mexicans & Bogota (DC), Colombia has predominantly white Colombians.

Furthermore, these places also have high natives (Mexico City & Bogota) in particular.

The map is good with the exception of the explanation for the Javanese in Suriname. The East Indian population is a separate group, represented by the green (Indio). The two are not the same.
