It was during the Manley administration that many Business owners and middle class Jamaicans (of all races, including Black) were forced out of their country.

Many returned after Seaga was elected, including myself and my family, but found that Jamaica had changed for the worse because of Manley's policies.

Interesting, didn't realize that Naomi Campbell or Tyson Beckford had a bit of Chinese descent in them. Beautiful people! Good mix.

Yeah but most Jamaicans ARE Black. Take a drive through Jamaica and you will see most people are of full African descent. The "minorities" are rare to see outside of the big cities (Mo Bay and Kingston). Jamaica looks like an African country traveling through it honestly. It could be Nigeria.

Who's saying they aren't? Some Jamaicans of mostly African ancestry have Chinese, Indian and British in their ancestral mix.

Then again, Brazil has a huge Japanese community that is rather un-Japanese these days.
Most people in Jamaica who have Chinese origins also have Black African origins. Most "Chinese" in the Caribbean are mixed - the Chinese men who came over to work in the fields didn't bring Chinese women with them.

This isn't surprising to me. The guys at the local liquor store in my area are Chinese Jamaican. When I was younger, I was taken aback but I've seen this a few times in my area and in Miami.

They exist but, I feel Jamaica over represents its mixed population. Instead of "Out of many, one people" it should be "Out of many Black people, One Black love" I'm mixed myself so I'm not fascinated with mixed people and brown people- how Jamaica and the average Jamaican is. It's much cooler to be full African descent or near it like most Jamaicans are, I think that's more special since the slavery and centuries endured in the western hemisphere and all.

By the way, I see more foreign Chinese in Jamaica now than Jamaican Chinese. I guess all the Jamaican Chinese went to Miami, Toronto and London fe true.
