It's kind of interesting to know that not all Jamaicans are black and that they live in relatively harmony (at least it seems so). Many famous celebrities like Naomi Campbell, Tyson Beckford, Leslie Kong (important to the reggae movement) are of Chinese or part-Chinese ancestry.

well i was not always harmony and it seems it has not been easy for chinese to become part of Jamaican society if you watch the documentary posted a bit further you will see there was some bigoted mindsets that were in the country.

My older brother married a woman of the Jamaican-Chinese community. I think she might have been born in the US, but much of her family is still in Jamaica. I admit I hadn't known of the Jamaican-Chinese community before he met her.

Jamaican Chinese followed the same way that Chinese Cubans, they got the hell out along with whites, Lebanese and others during the government of Seaga or maybe before.

They are all over the island.

Out of Many One People. No, not all Jcans are black. Some are white. Some are red. Some are yellow.

As for living in harmony, the murder rate on the island tells a different story.

Some of the locals have issues with the Chinese because they feel that the Chinese are selling crappy goods ( and they are), are making a huge profit ( and they are) and instead of reinvesting that money into the island, a huge portion goes overseas, ( and it does).

For this reason, they pretty much stick to themselves.

Isn't most of that just crime in general, nothing to do with racial tension?

they are a very small minority so most people are unaware of Chinese history in Jamaica but it is a very interesting history.
