San Francisco -- i live here. beautiful city in the Americas

New York -- favorite city in the world, much less the Americas.

Mexico City -- my parents/family are from here. tons of history.

Just the west would do. Remember Denver, Portland, Sacramento, Austin, and Phoenix aren't on the west coast but they are all west of the river.

Not Tijuana that's still west coast. Monterrey, Mexico City, and Guadalajara aren't even on a coast. You are right about Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro and I also like Panama City, Santiago, and San Jose (Costa Rica).

I consider Sacramento on the West Coast much like Washington and Philadelphia (both river cities) to be on the East Coast. A city does not have to be located literally on the ocean's waters.
