Definitely Mexico and Costa Rica. There are so many other Latin American countries to see, not just these two.

I don't think Mexico as a whole is overrated. Outside the over popularized beach resorts, much of Mexico is under appreciated .

Judging from the few latin american countries I visited (ie Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala) I can't say that any of them are overrated.

CR wins this one far and away. it's not even better than the two countries that border it, much less the best in the region, yet it gets most of the tourists.

mexico is too large to be overrated. altho maybe being mexican i am biased.

Costa Rica and Dominican Republic IMO. Not much substance... Panama blows CR out of the water., and DR is just meh.

Surprised at the Mexico responses. Mexico is a HUGE country. Mexity City (DF) is gorgeous-- one of my favorite Latin cities. So much culture.

Because they probably only ever been to cancun and from that city they judge the whole of Mexico.

In Any case, most anything you can find in Latin america you can find in Mexico.

And I agree Mexico city is exhilarating.
