There is not a history of left wing governments besides Cuba that I am aware of. Recently some countries have more socialist agendas because now socialists can speak up but socialists always existed. There is more of speech, more media and more people watching human rights violations. And even with all that people still get killed. In Colombia killing union leaders of is the national sport.

"Between 2000 and 2010 Colombia accounted for 63.12% of trade unionists murdered globally. According to the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) there were 2832 murders of trade unionists between 1 January 1986 and 30 April 2010,[5] meaning that "on average, men and women trade unionists in Colombia have been killed at the rate of one every three days over the last 23 years."

If you want to know about the history of Latin America reading about The United fruit company(Banana Chiquita) is a good start.

There are many left-wing countries here. Chile is the most right-wing, i guess. Now they have a socialist president but i think they will keep the economy in the way it is, i hope they will. Venezuela is the most left-wing country excluding Cuba, they've gone ok until a moment and now they are lost. Argentina is getting lost too, it's very disappointing because they were one of the most developed countries in the world decades ago and since then they are always making mistakes. Uruguay is left-wing too, their inflation rate isn't going so nice but who cares? They have marijuana. Brazil is certainly left-wing, we were going very well in the 00s but now things got worse and the people are against the government.

Those elections were not fair. Venezuela = a fascist dictatorship. As happens with all fascist/socialist despotic regimes, the people suffer. Venezuela is mess right now. Food shortages, power outages, lack of toilet paper.

Again and again, FASCISM is RIGHT WING. Fascists hate socialism and are ANTI-MARXIST. Those that claim fascism is leftist do so on some goofy notion that Nazi Germany official name included "National Socialist". National Socialism is just an ironic euphemism for royalist right wing dictatorship. Hitler liked to court the former German royal family to get legitimacy, he had no intention actually sharing power with anyone. He was very ANTI-MARXIST!!!!!!! If anything Fascism is more akin to being a rabid Royalist. The 1930s Fascism was very NATIONALIST and militarily aggressive. Fascism today is less so. Now its more of a Kleptocracy.

By the way those Trump supporters that are white nationalists are what used to be called neo-fascists or SKIN HEADS. They have German Nazi flags hanging next to their Confederate battle flag, goose stepping, chanting Heil Hitler, and love quoting MEIN KAMPF. Pretending they are old school German Nazi thugs. Hating non-white Americans. These are your FASCISTS, not what you call leftists.

And leftists isnt a Democrat, a true leftist is far more left than social liberal corporate apologists in Democrat Party. A leftist believes in govt ownership of all natural resources and means of production. STate collectives and that sort of thing. Do you see even Bernie Sanders promoting such? No what you call leftists are social liberals. Capitalists with a heart in other words. You are clueless what a true Socialist is.

Reading through this discussion, it seems to me that some of the previous posters in this forum use the words "fascism" or "fascist" just as insults, without objectively thinking about what those words actually mean.

According to Websters dictionary (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fascism):

fascism noun
fas·cism | \ ˈfa-ˌshi-zəm also ˈfa-ˌsi- \
Definition of fascism
1: often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control // early instances of army fascism and brutality
— J. W. Aldridge

Also,

: a way of organizing a society in which a government ruled by a dictator controls the lives of the people and in which people are not allowed to disagree with the government
: very harsh control or authority
: a political system headed by a dictator in which the government controls business and labor and opposition is not permitted

Here is an excellent link to an article from Live Science discussing fascism definition: https://www.livescience.com/57622-fascism.html

And finally, George Orwell's 1944 essay on this subject is a must read: https://www.orwell.ru/library/articl.../english/efasc

Understood AntonioR. It does indeed sink in, since the subject is still as relevant now as it was back in 2014 (perhaps even more now).

We need to remove the wannabe fascist dictator before he does more damage to our government. Unless you prefer being a strongman banana republic under Putin influence.

I think most countries in the world are pretty socialist or left wing except Anglo countries, and even Anglo countries are getting that way.

Trump and his followers remind a lot of right wingers in Central America. The same mentality. His followers won't admit or seem to excuse all of his BS. I have seen the samething in Central America, right wingers are always willing too look the other way and pretend everything is great.
