In terms of GDP (PPP) in 2014, the U.S. accounts for 61.2% of the total economic output of the Americas.
United States - 61%
Brazil - 11%
Mexico - 7%
Canada - 5%
Argentina - 3%
what that has to do with the fact that the U.S.A doesn't have a proper country name?
Argentina was mainly "wealthy" in the early twentieth century from commodity exports, especially meat and grain; when it also had a relatively small population in a large area. It was never a truly developed nation. In fact, its attempt to industrialize, through import substitution and protectionism, really derailed the economy. There is something of a myth that Argentina was once on the cusp of becoming the next United States, or at least, another Canada, but somehow fell off track.

Argentina was at least top 5 most developed nation in the early 20:th century. I don't understand where you get your facts from.

Well, let's see how Saint Macri will solve all the problems of Argentina now that he will get the country rid of evil Peronism...
Nobody says Macri is a saint, and Argentina didn't get rid of Peronism.
The ones who actually talk in religious terms are the peronists, especially the heavy supporters of the Kirchners, who virtually have elevated them as spiritual leaders.
I see that Macri's father came from Italy. So did the father of another Argentinian who's now a world leader.
