Argentina and Chile aren't really that much of surprise in the drop, but the U.S. drops by quite a bit. It's ludicrous that as Americans we are not more angry over such inequality. Just bringing it up starts labeling you as some post-McCarthy red scare socialist/communist. -_- So many want to blissfully ignore how much trouble we are in until we end up on the same level as Latin America and/or Africa, with extreme riches and poverty, very little in between.
Inequality isn't necessarily a bad thing. Costa Rica or Chile have a higher inequality than Nicaragua or Venezuela, but less poverty and less problems in general.
I would think Uruguay would beat out Chile and Argentina.
Argentina and Chile (oh and Cuba for some reason) are all "Very High Human Development" -ranked countries, while Uruguay unfortunately only reaches "High Human Development" stage.
There is nothing surpricing about Uruguay not beating Chile or Argentina
Which one do you rather live in? Yeah, so much for gini index
Exactly....The UN is one of the most vile organizations on the face of the planet.... it should be disbanded in it's entirety. Besides it's a paper tiger, they "think" they have any actual authority, which they don't..
Why close the UN now?...when it's finally beginning to be more representative of the world...unless of course some of you have always felt this way toward the UN...in which case, disregard
Now the ICC on the other hand...there is a spectacularly biased organization
Poverty, crime and lack of freedom are problems. Unequality of income is not, if the poorest people has opportunities for accumulating money without disturbance of the government.
