I am curious what would happen to Venezuela if they default on their loans and run out of foreign currency. I'm on the other side of the world and this doesn't affect me personally. But every day I get dire news reports about their economic situation exacerbated by Maduro. Could they get rid of their foreign currency and just be dollar based? I know El Salvador, Panama, and Ecuador have done this and Zimbabwe no longer has its own currency.

Only way I see this happening is post-Chavismo/Madurismo, XXI century Socialism.
Until then, they'll get deeper and deeper in debts, mainly to the Chinese.

You're assuming Maduro actually wants to fix the economy...

Also, the dollar? Really?

That banana country will always be poor and ruled by foreign nations such as Cuba.

Venezuelans are too ignorant and weak.

There are plenty of intelligent Venezuelans but the problem is that with a democracy once the ignorant exceed the intelligent, you get what happened to Venezuela. Also, they had a huge economic disparity between the wealthy and the poor which caused the poor to not care about taking from the rich.

What happened to Venezuela could happen to the USA as we are dumbing down our children and millions of ignorant illegal immigrants are being invited in and given voting cards.
