There's no universal code of morality as human beings have to adapt to their environment.
If women in Latin America find that rich foreigners are desirable notwithstanding age and physical appearance, they are not acting differently than German and French women that married any American soldier after the war. To interpret that women in rich western countries are not steered by money or social factors is naïve and nonsensical.
As to the title of this post, reminds of the rationale behind Trump's voters.
Women in poor countries all around the entire universe are more competive, just as women working in maquiladoras are more economical, also foreigners from developed countries are considered rich so they are socially rewarding according to their environment.
No different than when American soldiers made love to any European women paying with cigarretes and nylon stockings.
Women in developed countries are logically worried as they perceive they are not competitive, that's why they resort to all sorts of moral disqualifications from a grotesque position of moral superiority. They are not superior from a moral standpoint at all.
There's a parallelism here, as German women that married American soldiers were also slandered by other German women also from a moral-patriotic standpoint..which is demential.

I do not find the question specially idiotic, just reminded me about Trump voters complaining about factories moving to Mexico.
Women that vote for Trump might well say......they have lower requirements, that is why they are stealing our men..

Sorry. I am Canadian and did not exactly get what specific thing Trump said you where referring to. I am honestly just tonning him out and hoping someone else wins. My thought are not about. "stealing our men". It is more about the idea that a man from where I am at could be delusional or disrespectful enough to think that a woman from Latin America would tolerate more nonsense or just have lower standards (whatever way you want to define it).

And before anyone possibly pinpoints this type of attitude of the fact the artist singing is from the Caribbean please note this song was written by a British rock group Mungo Jerry in the 1970s.
It is a cute little catchy song, but this particular line especially when I was younger made me wow is this how men decide how to treat women? If I came from a poorer family does this mean I guy would or should treat me worse? The remake of this song was very popular where I am from and I have to wonder if hearing words like this a popular song does get translated subconsciously as being a socially acceptable way of thinking.
To answer your question.
When people are in dire need, they have no standards.
Nothing to do with morals, human beings are like that.
As those countries improve and middle class grows in the future, they might go to Canada for the same reason.
After all, those countries are Catholic and not Lutheran.

I agree. This is likely because the educated or middle or higher class women are likely more similar to the average Canadian or American woman.

The ones that are similar to Canadians live in isolated rural communities with Methodist churches.
The priest or minister packs their heads with smut, guilt, SIN.
So those poor girls end up like behaving like a crazy nun, seeing sin and filth everywhere.

Oh God what are you talking about? Lol. Yes all women in Canada are as pure and innocent as freshly falling snow . I am actually okay with that stereotype ... feel free to spread it around. It is much more favourable then some of other ones I have heard !

I actually agree with that. Hence my personal discomfort around self proclaimed very religious people.
