But I was talking about getting a tourist visa, not about immigration. Anyway those stay longer are those who received a visa from USA...

The costumes look great and I am sure the music is great..... but I am a little disappointed it is not on the streets and in a Stadium. I street parades/ carnivals ... this is more the vibe of most of these types of events I have been too. I woukd still go ... but glad I understand this in advance.

Its OK though. The bureaucracy involved in Americans getting a US visa is just what Caribbean tourist destinations want to hear.

This doesn't make any sense? Unless you mean Americans from all the Americas?

I like outdoor street party type events. I dont like drunks ... but no matter where I go there are always people that take things to far ...so you just need to try and move away from the drunks.

I remember being at calle ocho and this 20 something year old was so drunk he look like he was going to fall over and I gad a kid with me ...luckily his freinds dragged him off before something happened. What I like about this event is that it is a very muxed crowd ...ex young ..old.... families.... singles .... and honestly everytime I went even when fights looked like they were going to happen peopke usually stepped in to deescalte the problem even before security had to get involved because no one wsnted tge event to be disrupted.

Caribbean Carnival in Toronto is simlar ... mixed crowds. Lots of security.

When it is crowded.... hotcand people are drinking all day one accidental bump can turn in to a fight. My key to keeping it fun.... I stay away from groups of teenager/ people in their early 20s or people that are drinking..... as in my opinion they are the ones most likely to start trouble.
