The government in El Salvador is socialist now, but really only in name and they haven't been in power that long. They haven't really implemented too many leftist policies despite the president and the vice president being ex-fmln guerillas. They have raised taxes a bit and put a an entrance fee on Guatemalan tourist. Guatemala and El Salvador had a really close relationship for a long time, I always thought these two countries would be the first to form some sort of union. Honduras and Guatemala just recently formed a union and opened up its borders. right now its only completely open for commerce but it will soon include regular people as well.

As for the Venezuelans moving to Colombia, I find it ironic as I have heard Venezuelans bad mouth Colombians for years and complain about Colombian illegals in that country. That is a perfect example why we should never discriminate our neighbors and migrants, we never know what the future holds
