The only country that has an extreme economic collapse at the moment is Argentina. But countries like Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay are booming.
Comparatively few cities in South America have mass transit, their infrastructure is way behind the Western world or the wealthier nations in Asia, and now they going to have robots do everything? What drug did you just finish smoking, or what did you drink?

In fact, Latin America as a whole is the wealthiest region of the developing world.

http://www.imf.org/external/Datamapp...O/APQ/WE/OEMDC

In all of Latin America only 2 places are going through an economic crisis, one is Venezuela which is melting down while the other one is Puerto Rico. Everywhere else is actually growing.

Considering both Africa and Asia have nations that have been completely blown up by war like Afghanistan and Somalia, that isn't saying anything at all.

No Latin American nation is as well off as Japan or Korea.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...y_GDP_(nominal)

By GDP, both China and Japan are well ahead of Brazil and Mexico, the highest Latin American nations by GDP. Brazil is just barely ahead of South Korea, which isn't good for Brazil, considering it's size and population.

I'm not knocking Latin America at all, but to suggest countries like Colombia, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, that can't even build reliable train networks are going to all of a sudden have everything done by ROBOTS is absolutely ridiculous. Brazil has done the best in Latin America in terms of building transit, but it still has quite a ways to go.

Do any or at least some of the people replying to this post even have children? If not go have your own children to see how easy it is and stop pushing other people too be baby factories.

Go help populate South America and help save them for going extinct.

Good point. It's extremely difficult under good circumstances, and look at the current political and economic situations across much of South America.

Who wants to have lots of children they cannot afford to take care of? Having lots of children you cannot support results in a very poor quality of life for the children and likely results in higher rates of crime.

Forget about abortion, it's all about the condoms! The Filipino hierarchy names the A.B.C.s as one of the top 3 causes that contribute to the "Culture of D.E.A.T.H." (or really pose a problem in generating a sustainable income and followers for the church).

Condoms should be easily available in stores (not just in the upscale parts of Metro Manila) now that the Reproductive Health Bill is finally law. Getting men to use them is another story!

Just watch the population growth slow with widespread condom use. Since my last visit, it went from 82 million in 2011 to, sadly, crossing 100 million a couple years ago. The only deniers in the country are Overpopulaters, not Climate Changers.

Pulling out won't work. It ruins everything.

(Don't know if the British resented Ireland for remaining neutral in World War II ?).

And did you ever read Jonathan Swift's satirical essay, suggesting that the starving Irish eat their own babies, during the 1840s potato famine?

An explanation for Brazil's sharp drop in fertility - taken from a 2011 National Geographic Magazine

Brazil: Birth Rate Decreases | Pulitzer Center

And a similar sharp drop has occurred in Mexico too.
