Here in Colombia the media does not really talk too much about the Mexicans and central Americans living in the US and being deported by Trump. (I guess for a Colombian perspective its a foreign issue)
However, recently CNN international showed a documentary about the issue.
It was families mostly from Honduras, it narrated the story of a honduras woman who moved to the US illegally 10 years ago, this is a single young woman, well ten years later she has four kids, between the ages of 1 and 8. She is now risking deportation and her kids will stay in the US.
What are the contributions of this woman to the world? four kids? why would you move ilegally to a country do not learn the language, do not plan anything, just move and have four kids in ten years that you cannot support, and then worry you will be deported and your children taken away?
Am I the only person who gets angry at this kind of people?
Why would you go to another country that is not yours, enter illegally and then have four kids in less than a decade and then lend yourself to a documentary so that they can pity you.
I think its terrible that this is happening but sometimes it is hard to feel empathy.

I have been wondering if the central Americans coming here really know about how they will be separated from their children and detained and jailed indefinitely at the border. There's no easy entry into the USA.
I do not make my lifestyle decisions for the purposes of bettering the human condition or fulfilling the goals of any national sovereign entity. I do things for reasons of my own, and I try not to judge people who do things for their own reasons.
What is becoming a worldwide problem is the new global caste system, in which people are assigned a nationality at birth, which is nearly impossible to change, and irrevocably dictates their access to the pursuit of happiness. National Caste determines whether a person is eligible to work in an economy where they can make 20 dollars an hour, or 20 cents an hour, for work that is equally demanding.
As for the Honduras woman, maybe she thought (rightly) that her children will grow up in the USA, have access to education and good paying jobs, and be able to send her money to live well for the rest of her life.

Of course people do things for inherently selfish reasons as you describe in your first paragraph.
The question is, how much should other sovereign countries make up for the failures of other countries? It is an overriding issue which often leads to wars.
A lot of people cite they are escaping gang violence. It said in this article that part of the problem is US deporting illegal gang members back to their country. Well, what else where they supposed to do with them? Keep them here to continue to reek havoc in the US? What a mess.

In a way Trump is right when he says that when Mexico and Central America send migrants to the USA, they do not really send their best people.
Judging by the people I saw in the documentary, they send some DUMB UNEDUCATED BASIC PEOPLE!
I was with my mouth wide open when I heard about one of the people in the documentary, he is in the US from el Salvador because he has three wives in the US, and so were his 13 children.
What kind of low life parasite to society does that? three wives and 13 children
Here in Colombia we have some messed up people who makes the wrong choices, but I have never seen a colombian man with 3 wives and 16 children, if something, they have three kids with two different women.
(They try not to pop too many babies because of paternity claims and the chunks they take out of their paychecks)
I do understand some people dont have too many opportunities, but I was born in the era of violence here in Colombia, my hometown Medellin was controled by Escobar and all I heard during my childhood was violence.
During those days, investment had left us and we were collapsing socially.
My dad was a woman beating pot head.... my mom a simple primary school teacher, with her salary she put me and my two brothers through college without the need to flee to the US.
We all live in Colombia, work, have our careers, we are buying our homes, cars. Without having to flee to the USA!!! it is all about making the right choices in life!

I am sure there are brilliant and very educated people in central America, no one is even making the insinuation that all central americans are uneducated and dumb.

i never insulted central americans, read my posts, i only mention them because they were the focus also mexicans, on the cnn documentary.
i respect poor people and their struggle, what i dislike deeply is leeches who use their poverty as an excuse to make idiotic decisions.
many poor people are dignified, good, work hard to lift themselves. I respect that a lot.
what i dont respect is poor and dumb and lazy,which is what a woman in her late twenties would be, if she ventures illegally into the usa and has four kids in the span of ten years while illegally there. that i will always look down upon and regardless of nationality.
