Hipolito Mejia, ex-president of the Dominican Republic, takes the cake on stupidity. The guy is a genius in farming quality tobacco (he´s an Agriculture Engineer by profession and has a degree in that and in growing tobacco from some university in North Carolina), but beyond that he´s a complete nutcase that says exactly what´s on his mind with no filter. Fidel Castro made fun of him in a reunion of Latin American presidents right in front of his face. LOL

His biggest pride is saying that he will always be a ´country boy´ (he grew up poor in the rural community of Gurabo outside Santiago, though today its a suburb of Santiago).

Look at this example.

This one is quite funny. Pajaro is Dominican slang for f*gg*t and he uses the word freely when he says he had a political movement named “F*gg*ts with Hipolito”. People can´t believe he, as president, would say such a thing so they laugh.

He runs for the presidency in every election, but his goverment from 2000 to 2004 was so bad that the country doesn´t re-elects him. Now one of his daughters has shown interest in the presidency and also a grandson.

Carolina Mejia, his daughter, speaks at around 2:50 in the video.

And this is his grandson that is showing interests in politics. He said it a few times that he wants to clean up the image of his grandfather and family in Dominican politics. He has an Economics degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Yes. If Bolsonaro was that dumb he wasn't supported by the financial market and business owners.
He really has good government projects and Brazilians elected enough congressmen and senators so Bolsonaro can approves the necessary reforms without corruption. He has received a blank check from the people.

He is stupid but he recognizes it.

IF he really work with a good team of specialists and do not end being only a dumb populist, then i think that his government can be better than the chaos some people are expecting.

Actually the market is pretty excited with his likely victory, stocks are rising, dollar is getting cheaper.

But these are just expectations, i hope he doesn't ruin it.

Yes we fear that Brazil has caught the "Trump disease". The 2 largest nations in the Americas caught in this blight.

It's almost sure, so far, that Bolsonaro will win the election, unfortunately.

My guess is that it will be a "Duterte-like" government.

What is really weird is a I'm seeing posts from my Brazilian friends regarding this election that refer to faith and beliefs.
