Yep, Cheap Charlie's Chronicles. I've been following him as well. Particularly interesting since he has been banned from Thailand for a year, so is just traveling until he can go back again. It's great to see him in the DR!

Seriously?
I follow his videos from time to time, not long ago he was in South Korea (Busan/Pusan).
What did he do to get banned?

I was watching some of his videos, and apparently he overstayed his tourist visa in Thailand, and the consequence was being banned. Which is kind of weird to me, as he must have had enough money to do visa runs, if he is now globe-trotting...

That being said, doing that kind of stuff, certainly makes him an interesting person - i.e. overstaying for no apparent reason, etc.

They can refuse you, if you already stayed 180 days in a calendar year....and if you are caught on overstay, as opposed to turning yourself in, the penalties are tougher. Read about CubaDave,.....

This pair of African Americans decided to check out Blue Mall in Santo Domingo.

I have to say that they say some ignorant things (not insulting, just ignorant lol; for example, in the beginning one of the guys claim the area is Bella Vista when in reality its Piantini), but the video tour they did is the most extensive on the web for this mall. Until a couple of years ago this was the most luxurious mall in the Caribbean, but The Mall of San Juan in Puerto Rico now has that place, making Blue Mall Santo Domingo the second most luxurious.

There is another Blue Mall in Punta Cana which shouldn´t be confused with this one. While both are owned by the same people, Punta Cana´s Blue Mall is geared more towards tourists abd isn´t as luxurious, whike Santo Domingo´s Blue Mall is visited more by local Dominicans (mostly upper middle class and the rich, because this mall is very expensive). In fact, if you put attention to the video you will see some upoer class Dominican women with the nanny/maid (their uniforms are usually all white blouses and pants) attending their kids in tow.

The mall gets more foot traffic during the evenings, on weekends, and right before major holidays such as Father´s Day, Mother´s Day, Christmas, Three Kings Day, etc.

The same guys from my previous post also did a video tour of Agora Mall.

Also Galeria360.

Plus Megacentro, which is geared mostly to lower middle and middle class.

And Sambil, which is similar to Megacentro in terms of its target public. At Sambil, all he videotaped was the food court.

I'm going to say commercial properties and advertising signage. In the 60s, when I went from months in eastern Europe back int Salonika, the biggest culture shock was the ubiquitous in-your-face advertising, especially lighted signs at night.

Interesting...but too bad they didn't focus more on the people, and the camera quality was a little shaky. They seemed more interested in the consumer side of things. How much things costs, and what products they had at the Mall.

Maybe I'm unusual, but I never go into a mall to window shop and look at products. I just hit the food court, and I do some people-watching...particularly in foreign countries. I'm more interested in that.

Cuba is communist dude

Dominica and Haiti share the same land mass. Haiti does not have a college and have to go to Dominica for college. Dominican person told me "Why are their people fleeing Venezuela and Argentina for Dominica?
