Just two hours drive outside the Colombian capital of Bogota lies the Chingaza National Park at 12,000 feet above sea level. It is a "Paramo": an alpine tundra environment unique to South America with some really interesting flora. It is not the kind of landscape that comes to mind when people imagine Colombia. But it can easily be done in a day trip from Bogota and is well worth a visit.
Looks interesting. Next time I´m in Bogota (some time within the next two years) I´ll see if I visit this place.
What types of animals live in that national park? I´m more interested in bird species, but any exotic four-legged species would make my visit worthwhile (if I see ut, lol).
