Regarding your question, it's totally possible...you just get line 4 from Luz to Paulista, then transfer to Line 2 and exit at Vila Madalena. It'll take no more than 30 min doing so.

I'd only advise that you take care with your time here so as not to conflict with peak hours, when all rail and buses systems are overcrowded (from 6am to 9am going downtown and from 5pm to 8pm going to neighborhoods and neighboring towns, Guarulhos included), and delays are common.
